Many people ask me how my hair could have grown so fast in such a short time (2 years precisely) and I could give them a few answers. Today I’m going to talk about the one I never speak about…vitamins! Every keen Mami knows what you put inside your hair translates when it comes out of your head. If you feed it trash food and sugar, it will come out thinning and brown but if you give it a healthy dose of vegetables, fruits and water, it flourishes.
Here was one way I hacked it because I’m still travelling down the path of healthy eating, (it’s a long and winding road y’all pray for me)
I fell upon all these influencer-sponsored posts about hair vitamins so I decided to delve into what it actually is about the vitamins that made them work.
I learnt about this one aspect, Biotin, which is magic with nails, hair and skin. It is a type of Vitamin B and it is great with thinning hair and nerve damage. Despite there being few studies to show that biotin increases the rate of hair growth, many show how the deficiency of biotin does the opposite. If I was to get it from food that would mean constantly consuming eggs, milk and bananas. But ya girl is simply inconsistent lol, so I got a bottle of Vitamin B complex instead.
I now get my daily dose of hair strengthening, not to mention other B vitamins encourage production of red blood cells (which carry nutrients and oxygen to the scalp and hair follicles) all that screams hair growth to me!!
I have been taking these supplements for a little while now my hair barely breaks or is thin, I don’t know if it’s just how it is or there was extra help, all I know is the more the merrier!
In between using Amla oil treatments and inversion method, I can credit vitamin B for making my hair journey much easier than it already was.
